The Regional Conferences are Coming!
It’s that time, and we can’t wait. Our annual JACC regional conferences are coming up soon!
The JACC SoCal Conference will be Saturday, Oct. 19, at Cal State University-Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St, Northridge, CA 91330. Click here to register – registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The JACC NorCal Conference will be Saturday, Oct. 26, at San Francisco State University, 1600 Holloway Ave, San Francisco, CA 94132. Click here to register – registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Conferences will include a full day of workshops and on-the-spot contests. In addition, representatives from transfer institutions will be on hand to answer questions about their journalism and mass communication programs.
Registration is $50 per student/faculty delegate and includes lunch. After the respective early registration deadlines, the fee will be $60; late registrations will be allowed up until the day before the conference. Although we will try to feed everyone if we have adequate notice, lunch cannot be guaranteed for late delegates. Name changes are free for on-time registrations through Friday, Oct. 11 (SoCal) or Friday, Oct. 18 (NorCal). After those dates, there will be a $10 late name change fee (not applicable to late registrations).
Advisers should register their entire delegation by using the "add guest" function in the registration tool. Please do not register student delegates with separate registrations.
NOTE: There are no refunds after the regular registration deadline. Requests for a registration cancellation or credit will be honored only through the regular registration deadline. There are no credits for no-shows.
We will share more details on the conferences – including parking details and directions, campus maps, check-in times, workshop schedules, on-the-spot event details and more – as we get closer.
Before you arrive, be sure to have your students fill out both the JACC behavior policy form AND liability waiver (see listserv message for attachments). If you forget, we will have blank forms available at check-in, but check-in moves quite a bit faster if you’ve already had your students fill out these forms.
