The JACC SoCal Conference was held Saturday, Oct. 11, at Cal State University-Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St, Northridge, CA 91330. Click here to register – registration deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The JACC NorCal Conference was held Saturday, Oct. 25, at San Jose State University, 1 Washington Sq, San Jose, CA 95192. Click here to register – registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Conferences will include a full day of workshops and on-the-spot contests. In addition, representatives from transfer institutions will be on hand to answer questions about their journalism and mass communication programs.
Registration is $50 per student/faculty delegate and includes lunch. After the respective early registration deadlines, the fee will be $60; late registrations will be allowed up until the day before the conference. Although we will try to feed everyone if we have adequate notice, lunch cannot be guaranteed for late delegates. Name changes are free for on-time registrations through Friday, Oct. 3 (SoCal) or Friday, Oct. 17 (NorCal). After those dates, there will be a $10 late name change fee (not applicable to late registrations).
Advisers should register their entire delegation by using the "add guest" function in the registration tool. Please do not register student delegates with separate registrations.
NOTE: There are no refunds after the regular registration deadline. Requests for a registration cancellation or credit will be honored only through the regular registration deadline. There are no credits for no-shows.
We will share more details on the conferences – including parking details and directions, campus maps, check-in times, workshop schedules, on-the-spot event details and more – as we get closer.
Before you arrive, be sure to have your students fill out both the JACC behavior policy form AND liability waiver (attached – note that both forms are in one attachment). If you forget, we will have blank forms available at check-in, but check-in moves quite a bit faster if you’ve already had your students fill out these forms.
One final, big pretty please: If you have students requiring special accommodations attending the conference, let Patrick Schmiedt (pschmiedt@citruscollege.edu) know a soon as possible! We want to do everything we can to make sure EVERY STUDENT who wants to participate can do so.
