The JACC SoCal Conference will be Saturday, Oct. 21, at Cal State University-Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St, Northridge, CA 91330. Click here to register – early registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 10. Here is the tentative conference schedule. Here is a map of the campus.
Conferences will include a full day of workshops and on-the-spot contests. In addition, representatives from transfer institutions will be on hand to answer questions about their journalism and mass communication programs.
Registration is $50 per student/faculty delegate and includes lunch. After the respective early registration deadlines, the fee will be $60. Although we will try to feed everyone if we have adequate notice, lunch cannot be guaranteed for late delegates registering onsite. Name changes are free for on-time registrations through Friday, Oct. 6 (NorCal) or Friday, Oct. 13 (SoCal). After those dates, there will be a $10 late name change fee (not applicable to late registrations).
Advisers should register their entire delegation by using the “add guest” function in the registration tool. Please do not register student delegates with separate registrations.
NOTE: There are no refunds. Requests for a registration cancellation or credit will be honored only through the regular registration deadline. There are no credits for no-shows.
Parking will be $10 per car for full day at SFSU (NorCal) and $10.45 per car for the full day at CSUN (SoCal). Check-in will go from 8-9 a.m. (NorCal) and from 7:45-8:45 a.m. (SoCal). The conference will go until awards are done at roughly 5:30-6 p.m. at each conference.
Before you arrive, be sure to have your students fill out both the JACC behavior policy form AND liability waiver. If you forget, we will have blank forms available at check-in, but check-in moves quite a bit faster if you’ve already had your students fill out these forms.
