Helping Students Cover the Whole Story with Solutions Journalism

We'll explore the key tenets of solutions journalism, how to incorporate it into your teaching, and how to help students apply it in college newsrooms. The workshop will be led by Sara Catania, Solutions Journalism Network. We'll look at college-level reporting examples, as well as the abundant resources available to educators and students through the Solutions Journalism Network.

Participants will walk away with a clear sense of how to teach the core principles of solutions journalism, as well as story ideas and a plan to support student journalists who want to use it in their reporting and editing.
