American Press Institute offering paid summer fellowship

If you’re a college undergraduate with a passion for quality journalism and a vision for a better way to find and tell news, this may be for you.

A summer fellowship is not the same as an internship as it requires innovation and dedication to take on a project and see it from concept to evaluation in this 12-week program.

“We’re looking a student or recent grad who can envision building something from start to finish — such as a tool, resource, or guide — that would help news organizations make decisions in critical areas of their work,” is how the opportunity is defined.

The project categories have already been outlined by API including an information-gathering project, a written report, a small technology development, “or any other effort that would help news organizations solve problems they face.”

Details are available on API’s website.
